It’s starting to be a tradition that I fly to another state after conference rather than returning home. This year I’m in Philadelphia, PA with my hubby, so it’s going to take a bit longer to return to normalcy. I’m just checking in for a couple housekeeping items so to speak.
First of all, a HUGE thanks to everyone who came up to me to express their encouragement and enthusiasm for the October release of Butterfly Swords. The most common thing I heard was, “Are you the one who wrote that book with the beautiful cover?” So big kudos to the Harlequin art department!
Thanks to everyone who showed up to my “Selling the Hard Sell” workshop and/or the “Dress for Historical Success” workshop. I’m avidly looking for photos from those events or from the Awards night ceremony when I was presenting to post here. I don’t have them on my camera so it may be a hunt.
I ran out of handouts at the “Hard Sell” workshop, so I’ll be posting a copy on the website as soon as I get home to my writing computer.

I have a rather bad photo from your Hard Sell workshop. I had snuck in and was sitting all the way in the back, so there’s a sea of heads at the bottom, but the words “Its all a Hard Sell” are pretty clear up on teh projector. Will email it to you later.
I also have the photo of you in costume taken right after the fashion show when I saw you in the hallway.
BTW, I think that next year, when you’re up for Ritas for Best First Book and Best Historical (I’ll bet you a soda, or coffee, or something bigger that you are nominated for both….), that you should totally wear that gown to the awards. It is gorgeous and you looked beautiful! (And I’m terribly jealous that with blonde hair that I’d just look silly in a traditional Chinese costume, because those fabrics are absolutely to die for…)

Dara – I have video! Hopefully it came out. I have to compile it all together this weekend. The show was so much fun!
Kristi- I do love the colors of the robe. Thanks for the pics! It was so early that I couldn’t get my roomies to take a picture. Glad you were able to make the Hard Sell workshop too. I’m not going to lie, I definitely will enter Butterfly Swords in the RITAs and cross my fingers real hard. 🙂 Thanks for the vote of confidence as you’re one of the people who read the close to final version of the book.
