About

Jeannie Lin

Jeannie Lin started writing in 2005 while she was teaching high school. After a long journey through rejections and contests and revisions, her manuscript, Butterfly Swords, won the 2009 Golden Heart® award for historical romance. Her first two books have received starred reviews in Publishers Weekly and Library Journal and her second novel, The Dragon and the Pearl, was listed as one of Library Journal’s Best Romances of 2011. Check the Books section for information on individual titles and release dates.

Her stories are inspired by her love of adventure, history, and fantasy in both western and Asian traditions. From an early age she was fascinated by legends of King Arthur and the fantasy of Lord of the Rings as well as the Chinese wuxia (martial arts) fiction. As a result, she writes heroic characters in epic situations while interweaving a strong romance to make larger than life characters human. For more on wuxia and the historical background to her books, see the extras section.

Jeannie is represented by Gail Fortune of the Talbot Fortune Agency Inc.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. WHEN DO YOUR BOOKS COME OUT AND HOW CAN I GET THEM?
I try to keep my website updated with information on new releases as soon as I know them. For more information on upcoming titles, see the Books section.

The books are available in print and digital editions. As of January 2012, there will be simultaneous releases in the US and UK markets of the Harlequin Historical line.

In bookstores, my titles will usually be shelved in the Series romance or Category romance section. They may be on an end case with other Harlequin categories such as Harlequin Presents and Harlequin Blaze. Sometimes the Series romance section is on the regular romance shelves. When in doubt, ask a helpful bookstore representative and you can always request they order the book if the store doesn’t carry that category.

The print editions are also available at a variety of online retailers such as Amazon, eHarlequin, Powell’s, B&N.com, and BookDepository.

The short stories/novellas are released in the Harlequin Historical Undone line and will be available online anywhere ebooks are sold. They are in digital format only at this time.

2. I’M ALSO WRITING OR HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO WRITE A NOVEL SET IN ASIA. WHERE CAN I CONNECT WITH OTHER AUTHORS WHO ARE DOING THE SAME?
I’m on many romance and historical romance author loops. Though I get a lot of great information from them, I found that it was hard to share information and ask questions that were specific to Asian history, language, and culture. You can find me online at the Authors of Asian Novels Facebook Group.

3. HOW DO I GET YOUR BOOKS OUTSIDE OF THE US?
The answer depends on your specific location. Try BookDepository (www.bookdespository.com ) which will deliver books internationally free of delivery charge. Several online retailers will also carry the book and ship internationally.

Several foreign language editions of the books are also available. See the Foreign Editions page for more information.

4. MORE QUESTIONS?
I love getting comments and questions. Contact me through my contact page and I will try to respond as soon as I can.

Thank you for stopping by.
