Hubby and I celebrate our 2nd anniversary today. It’s the cotton anniversary and I’ve yet to pick out his present. It’s right now between the practical: dishtowels. Or the amusing: silly briefs/boxers. He’s specified that for tradition’s sake, it should be 100% cotton.
For our first anniversary, we exchanged movie tickets to Star Trek — while I rolled my eyes at him. I wonder if there’s an updated list for the modern age.
I have until my lunch break to make a decision…

I love the boxers! They are so adorable! You have to get them 🙂
I never give towels away, in my culture it translates to ‘hard life or struggles’ so basically when someone gives it in the new year, they secretly want you to have hardships. Yes, it’s vindictive thinking–but that’s one of those things that I’ve been told as a child. Other things to avoid gifting: knives, pens, shoes…
However, I start to wonder how far one goes with superstitions…Sometimes I just shrug them off.

Argh!!! Mums never told me about the towel superstition. I’d heard of the knives, which you can counteract by having the person give you a penny to they’re technically buying the knives instead of receiving them as a gift.
But maybe hubby is fated to have it hard. He is married to me, after all. 🙂
