Poking my head out for a minute…
Is the Harry Potter movie still out? I lost track of it after mum stood me up in Vegas to play the penny slots instead of going on a movie date with her dear daughter.
“Bah!” I could hear her saying. “You can watch Harry Potter anywhere.”
Back to the cave. I’m supposed to start fast drafting a novella today and I need to ship the D&P manuscript to Little Sis along with some form of bribe. Nothing edible. The last bribe was a disaster when the squeezable bottle of condensed milk busted open in the box. Don’t ask. Little Sis likes condensed milk — just not all over manuscript pages when she’s critiquing them. Maybe that’s why she panned everything from Chapter 12 on…
I think I’ll go see Harry Potter this weekend if I can get this novella drafted. 🙂

Ugh, is there any room in the cave for us? We need to be revising, but I’ve been easily distracted over the past couple of days…

Oooh, a new novella? May I ask what it’s about?
I should try and come up with short stories. I used to write flash fiction all the time for a weekly writing challenge; the stories had to be 750 words or less. I need to try and come up with something, if only to keep those writing muscles toned up.

Lisa – I think the cave is big enough for everyone who wants to hunker down. Mine’s my basement so it really does feel like a cave sometimes.
Dara – I used to love writing short stories! One of the editors mentioned that I might want to consider writing a companion novella to Butterfly Swords so I’m attempting to write a story for the Harlequin Historical Undone line which I think is only available online. It’s the love story that starts my heroine’s family line. If nothing else, it will cleanse my palette before I get the long awaited revision letter…scary. I’ll paste the first page for the upcoming Excerpt Monday!

If I could get a sitter, I’d go enjoy Harry Potter with ya! We haven’t seen it yet either. And alas, all I’ve done writing-wise today (or for the past month) is editing and marketing stuff. And today I got to let an agent know she sent the wrong manuscript back in my SASE. Haven’t heard from her yet, but I don’t imagine it’s going to be good news for me, either. Sigh.

Victoria – the wrong manuscript! Wow…never had that happen before.
