Happy, Happy! Joy, Joy!

Tech geek was able to recover my files!!!! Sure the laptop is still floating around on the west coast, but soon the lost pages will be back in my hands. Rejoice! The writing gods are kind!

On another side note, I’ve been noticing an upswing in searches for Asian romance or Asian historicals hitting my site. By upswing, I mean maybe 2 a day. Okay, it’s not much, but I dream of the day…

And finally to cheer myself up, I deposited my signing payment — which is only part of the advance. You get the rest when the final manuscript is finished with edits and accepted. I withdrew a single dollar to frame. So here’s the first dollar I earned writing. Am I goofball or what?

Hey, I have a copy of my first check! There’s nothing goofy about reaffirming your goals.

I think its awesome. And a great way to remember this moment!!

    Congrats again!
The optical illusion that the Bill is on an angle because of the butterflys is driving me a little batty and I need to close this image!

Not a goofball at all! I’d do the same thing 🙂

Thanks everyone. You have to celebrate the little things. 🙂

Victoria – I thought of scanning the check, but the dollar gave me a project to do too!

December – Darn it! I spent forever making sure it was straight but then the butterflies ruined everything. They seem so pretty and harmless. Maybe a few more would balance it out since I’m going to be putting it over my desk and it’ll drive me crazy if it looks crooked.

I don’t think that’s silly at all! I framed my first check…well, I got it color copied but it made me so proud. I also framed all my covers too! When I get my New York check I’ll be doing the same thing–you betcha.

Jax – I had the check displayed on my desk for days before I decided I better deposit it before it gets buried!

Hi Viv! I thought the butterflies were fitting, plus when I went to Michaels to buy the frame, all those cute little stickers and scrapbooking supplies were just calling to me. I’m lucky I set this dollar aside before I spent it in the shopping binge.
