Upcoming movie: "Warrior's Way"

I just caught wind of a movie that’s supposed to coming out August 2009 called “Warrior’s Way” starring Kate Bosworth, Geoffrey Rush and Dong-Kun Jang. It’s an “East meets West” flick with martial arts sword fighting in the Wild West.

Okay, it looks a little choppy here. The effects were rough and the romance…hmmm…probably not.

I always become hopeful when a big action movie like this hits American theater. Kate Bosworth and Geoffrey Rush are big names. And it’s by the same producer as Lord of the Rings. Maybe it’ll take off and people will think there’s a market for my stories. I was very hopeful when “Forbidden Kingdom” came out with Jet Li and Jackie Chan. *sigh*

I won’t rave until I know more about it, but man do I wish I had been querying Butterfly Swords the year that “Crouching Tiger” hit the screens. 🙂

    Looks pretty. “Lone Wolf and Cub” goes to the old west, maybe?

    I’ll see it just for the Dong-Kun Jang eye candy.

    Looks like an action-packed movie. I am interested in how it will play out on screen. There’s something wonderful about Asian filmmaking and usually when the US decides to remake it, there’s more chances of poking fun of Asian cinema. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I hope that it will be a great combination of the East meets West storytelling. 🙂

    Oh Jeannie – that looks pretty decent, but I love action flicks.

    This one has that “could rock, could suck” thing going on, but I really hope they do what looks like a great story justice!

    Jax – I know what you mean! Asian cinema has it’s own charm that sometimes doesn’t translate. At the same time, George Lucas borrowed from samurai films to make Star Wars. There is a happy blend somewhere!

    Bria – Deadliest Warrior: Cowboys vs. Magic ninjas

    Tester 1: Hands down the cowboy’s revolver beats the ninja’s throwing star in short range combat. I’m going to have to give the edge to the cowboy.

    Tester 2: I’m not so sure of that. That summoning multiple ninjas trick is pretty awesome. I’m going to have to give it to the Magic ninja.
