| I will be speaking in Nashville at the 2010 RWA national conference along with partner in crime, Kristina McMorris. Our workshop, “Selling the Hard Sell”, goes over our query and submission process and how we always had an eye on the market, despite our “unmarketable” proposals. Conference dates are July 28-31.

| I’ll be speaking at the NECRWA Let Your Imagination Take Flight conference March 26-27, 2010. The workshop is titled “Page 1, 5, 50 – Keeping them Hooked”. In this hard market, to sell the ‘hard sell’ novel, I learned with each contest, submission, and rejection what was needed to keep editors and agents reading. I meticulously tracked the responses to my submissions with each revision until, slowly, but surely, more and more of the novel was requested. I’ll be going over the key lessons I’ve learned about conflict, character and pacing to keep agents and editors hooked at each of these critical points through a partial submission.
